Oversupply

Because an oversupply of chips has sent prices plunging, the manufacturer has announced that it will cut production by closing its factories for two days a month.

a. Because an oversupply of chips has sent prices plunging,
b. Because of plunging prices chips, which is due to an oversupply,
c. Because chips prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,
d. Due to plunging chip prices from an oversupply,
e. Due to an oversupply, with the result that chip prices have been sent plunging,

It has to be in between A and D.

i will go with A.

Due to:

I match postponement was due to rain.

Because it was raining, the match was postponed.

Good Point here:
after due to : we don't have a clause.
after Because : we have a clause.

Due to : often preceded by "to be".

Correct
b. Because of plunging prices chips, which is due to an oversupply,
which refers to chips- incorrect
c. Because chips prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,
which refers to plunging - incorrect
d. Due to plunging chip prices from an oversupply,
due to ... from a oversupply - unidiomatic
e. Due to an oversupply, with the result that chip prices have been sent plunging,
awkward

OA is A
As B,C,E are clearly loosers, we need to think of A and D. I picked A but don't know why to eliminate D.
Please explain
