What is the value of xy?

(1) (x + y)^2 = 37
(2) (x-y)^2 = 17

oe is C

pretty simple
stmt 1 and 2 both give 2 equations with 2 variable but no value is given for either x or y

combining you get
x^2 + 2xy + y^2 = 37 (stm1)
x^2 - 2xy +y^2 = 17

we can subtract both to get value of xy hence C
