Hey guys, I'm a night owl, but can get going in the morning when neccessary. I have two options for the test - 8 am or 2 pm. Morning is hard to wake up and get good breakfast and all that; night - might get sleepy or hungry. What's your advice?

Also, what do you recommend for a snack during the test? Yogurt, protein bar, nothing at all? What liquids? Red Bull, Gatorade, plain water?

Thank you!

Well my advice to you would be to select a timing that you are most comfortable with. I too am a " night owl" and sleep at the most weirdest of time, I had selected the 9 am batch for my GMAT and on the previous night had gone to sleep at 3:30 am and just had enuf time take a nap of about 3 1/2 hrs and was quiet "heavy headed" when i arrived at the center but finally everything turned out ok. I guess I was lucky and hence wouldnt advice anyone else to do such a mistake. Please choose a batch that you are most comfortable with.

About the snack part i would suggest you to go thru Stacey Koprince's thread where she has given some excellent advise on what to have and what not to have on D-Day.

On a off note, I had a 7 hr exam on Sunday and i had pulled an all nighter on the night before, but did manage to keep myself awake and alert throughout the 7 hr period with the help of some Red Bull and really strong coffee, but i don't think you need that for a 3 hr exam.

Well said, gabriel.

Do some digging into the past posts on this topic. There has been a lot said about what foods to eat. Be careful with drinks containing caffeine--you don't want to be thinking about the bathroom during your test!
