Some of the students enrolled at college T are part time students are the rest are full time students. By what percent did the number of full-time students enrolled at college T increase from the fall of 1999 to the fall of 2000?

1. There were 50 more full-time students enrolled at college T in the fall of 2000 than in the fall of 1999.

2. The total number of students enrolled at college T increased by 5 percent from the fall of 1999 to the fall of 2000.

1)Not SUFF
we need the number of FT students in 1999 to find the percentage increase

2) total is given. we need the data about FT students

Combined

still we can't find the number of full time students in 1999

Hi, IMO E.

We want to find out Full Time/Total in 2000 - Full Time/Total in 1999

Therefore, we need to obtain the number of full time enrollment and total enrollment for both 1999 and 2000.

stmt 1) Full time enrollment in 2000 (X+50) is 50 more than that in 1999 (x)

not enough since we do not have any information about total enrollment

stmt 2) Total enrollment in 2000 (1.05Y) increased by 5% from that of the prior year (Y)

also not enough because we don't have any information that pertains to full time enrollment

combined

(x+50)/1.5Y - x/y = ?

we can calculate the difference b/c we don't know what x & y are.

Thus, E is the answer.
