Does x^2 = sq root (xy) ?
(1)y/x^3 = 1
(2) x^2 + y^2 =(x − y)^2

(1) was easy but could not understand (2) here.

I am sure u got stmt I's sufficiency

Not sure if I am missing something here; hope not.

Stmt II

x^2+y^2 = (x-y)^2

x^2+y^2 = x^2+y^2-2xy

2xy=0
xy=0
sqrt(xy) = 0

Either x is 0 then x^3 could equal sqrt(xy)
or y is 0 and x is not 0 then x^3 is not equal to sqrt(xy)
