ok i see my mistake now, nevertheless i don`t see how to solve independently
(1) no useful info
(2) tricky st
from here the number of students with cars is 50, the number with no car 30, the number of female with car 21, and the number of male with cars 29, but i still can`t find the number of females without cars.

both sufficient the number of female witout cars=30-14=16

appears that C

MALE FEMALE Total
CAR 29 21 50

NO CAR 14 16 30
--------
TOTAL 80

Now u got that..good wrk..

Pick C
Let X be the no. of cars bought.

No. of cars bought by female : 0.42 X = 42/100 * X = 21/50

We know that X <= 80

So, No. of cars bought by female : 21/50 * 50 = 21 ( As the number of females need to be integers)

But if u want to debate, then that becomes a alltogether different question...

From there, draw thye matrix, find the remaining data..
