better practice bold face questions and try to understand the strategy to solve them. they appear in gmat when u are doing great ( as i heard).

These are fairly new and still pretty rare, however Kaplan materials cover this type.

The approach is to figure out the role of each phrase in the stimulus. Then compare the roles you have identified for each of the bolded sections with the roles noted in the answers. As with many questions, you can use a process of elimination. If, for example, you find that the role of the first bolded phrase is to present evidence, then you can eliminate any answer that assigns a different role to the first phrase. Then you compare the roles assigned to the second phrase with your prediction and select the best fit.

These are confusing and unfamiliar and take practice, but in the end they use the same skills as in the Role of a Statement questions.

I've heard that getting a boldface verbal question is an indicator that you are doing well in the section. Is this true?

True...thought to be tougher. Although if you go through the OG 12 Editon which has a dozen of these questions they are at different levels. However, some of those seem to be older questions that were a different type (like strengthen - that they just converted over to bold-faced reasoning).

I think the best way to tell how you are doing in both Quant and Verbal is simply this: "How many questions are you working to completion with a high level of certainty (versus on the verbal side how many times are you "guessing" between two or three choices)?" And "Are you making it to the end of the section so that you attempt all questions?"
