i am wondering what can be the source of the problem. The only way B could also be an independent answer is when B says- "r divided s = 75/100". May be we are misreading the divided sign to "+". Because thats what the 1st statement means.

by the looks of what is written (considering B says r+s= 75/100) ... the answer has to be A. because there is no way to give the answer with that information alone.

hope it helps

For statement II

r = (75/100) - s

r = (75/100) - (s/1)

r = (75/100) - (100s/100)

r = (75 - 100s)/100
