Miles driven in city = 10 => Gallons of gasoline burned = (10/25)
Miles driven in highway = 50 => Gallons of gasoline burned = (40/50)

Total miles driven = (10 + 50) = 60
Total gallons of gasoline burned = (10/25) + (50/40) = (330/200) = (33/20)

Average miles per gallon = 60/(33/20) = (60*20)/33 = 36.36

The correct answer is D.
