combinations and permutations CONCEPT

by prince11 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 2:20 pm
Hi all,

Can anyone please explain this concept?

CONCEPT = when dealing with combinations and permutations, each result corresponds to a unique set of circumstances. For example, if you have x people and know that choosing two of them would result in 15 different possible groups of two, it must be true that x = 6.

MY QUESTION = How do I find the value of x (the group to choose from) = 6.

Thanks in advance
