A. 5/11
B. 11/5
C. 55
D. 110
E. 22,000
One way to convert a fraction into different types of units is to keep multiplying by 1:
1
mile/100
days * 5280 feet/1
mile * 1
day/24 hours.
Each fraction after the first is equal to 1 because the total number of units in the numerator is the equivalent of the total number of units in the denominator:
5280 feet = 1 mile.
1 day = 24 hours.
Multiplying by 1 converts the fraction without changing its value.
All of the units in color will cancel out, leaving a fraction in terms of feet per hour:
(1*5280*1)/(100*1*24) = 264/(5*24) = 11/5.
The correct answer is
B.
