I'm wondering if you experts out there can assist me in beginning this journey. I plan on applying for the 3rd round and taking my GMAT in early February. I took a practice GMAT from Kaplan back in September 2007 and got as follows:
Math: 26
- Problem Solving 45%
- Data Sufficiency 20%
- Arithmetic 25%
- Algebra 60%
- Geometry 60%
- Word Problems 50%
Verbal: 35
- Sentence Correction 50%
- Reading Comprehension 80%
- Critical Reasoning 70%
To help complete the background, I received a 1410 on my SAT with little studying in 2004.
I have purchased GMAT Premier Program 2009, Cracking the GMAT, and the OG books as well. I've been looking at others strategies and am wondering if people had tips to get me started on a better path? I've started to read the Kaplan book for the time being.
I'm having a difficult time getting direction and finding posts (I wish there were some stickies), but this forum looks great and I am very impressed and glad to be in a community of encouragement and support. I took a look at some of the basic questions in Premier for arithmetic and already found myself frustrated because it took me a while to figure them out or I didn't have an idea how to get the right answer. I've always known I'm very weak at math.
If I could be pointed in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping to get 750+ if at all possible on the GMAT. I've read the 3 hours a day and 5 on Saturday tips. I just need to know more of how to approach those hours well. I'm also hoping it's okay to take some weekends off with my 3 months to visit others, etc. with the holidays.
Your folks dedication definitely inspires me. All who work full-time jobs AND dedicate 3 hours a day!
