Please help me out!!!

First of all I want to thank this forum for teaching me a lot...you have been doing a great job for all GMAT aspirants and hope to continue it...

Here is a little information about me, before I proceed with my questions :

I've done my Bachelors in Electronics and Communication but however chose to follow the droves Indian IT industry.. I consider myself good in math and fairly good in verbal too (considering the GMAT verbal :( )

Now, the issue what I have is, I have taken a number of GMAT tests, princeton review and GMAT preps and scored somewhere between 460 to 510 range (almost 4 PR tests and 2 Gmat preps). I have given about 3 months of preparation. I don't know what mistake I am doing or is there something wrong with me that I cannot improve my scores...am still trying to figure that out.. but on the other hand if I try to analyze the questions at leisure (without the time constraints) I am able to answer almost 95 in math and 80 percent in verbal...So my point is, its not that I don't know how to solve the problem, but my problem is to solve under timed constraints. How can I improve that? , following others suggestions to improve on this aspect I have given about 6 tests with almost the same scores. I don't want to take another test without sorting out this issue.
Next my issue is, I see that people in this forum only talk about scores (in their Mocks and in the actual exam) in the range of 650 to 780...anything less than that is considered useless....now this has started to trouble me a loooot off late...am I the only one scoring in the range of 460 to 510? while others are way above me?? Is anybody else going through the same?

Am a lot confused now I have my exam coming up in the second week of next month :? :( ...I Will be looking forward to experts reply...

You are not the only one, but for some reason most people in this forum score high as you mentioned which made me feel lousy and depressed. I think the ones who score less than 600 don't post their scores and we only see few who are GMAT geniuses.

GMAT do not want to test any knowledge of math. they challenge you by giving problems that seem difficult but in fact can be solved with short cuts and more logic than the average person. Logic will make solve problems quikly.

I just read another post about a guy who graduated with GPA 3.7 from good school in California and has a successful career, but can't score more than 450.

a. nobody will brag he got a sub-600 score. so you won't find many posts by them.
b. buy an MGMAT Strategy Guide and use the 6 free CATs (included) to practice and review your errors.
c. If cracking under pressure is your problem, then do more than enough practice CATs to get into the groove.
d. leave the GMATPrep for a later date. You'll need them later on to accurately judge your final level of preparation. Instead, concentrate on the MGMAT CATs and explanations.

Thanks for your replies, wouldn't say relieved, but at least feeling a lot better knowing that somebody understands my concern and is suggesting a possible solution. Will try to implement it...thanks a lot once again....
