Realistic Target of 740+?

by Revilo16 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:12 am
Hey

I'm doing my test in 7 weeks. I got 540 and 570 on the 2 mba.com practice tests, this was before doing any studying. I'm currently not working and am willing to put in 40-50 hours per week to study.

Based on those practice test marks before having studied is it realistic to target 740+ in 7 weeks time?

I've got the Manhattan Strategy guides and the Official Guides.

Appreciate any advice or tips as well.

Thanks

The mba.com exams are closest to actual gmat. Ideal time to take them is a couple of weeks before the actual gmat.

In any case, if you can set a target and work hard towards it , it is achievable. I set my target at 750+ and printed it on a large sheet , put it on my wall and looked at it every day. In this way I never lost focus.

I referred to the powerscore critical reasoning bible and I felt it was fantastic for both CR questions and for RC. For SC I followed Manhattan, which i found to be more than sufficient to beat the gmat.

Practice the OG a couple of times, note down each and every mistake that you make and make sure mistakes once made are not repeated. You will be all set my friend !

Good Luck !

It's definitely possible, but it's going to be really tough. Make sure that you have found the best possible resources and study smart. If you do that, then 740 suddenly becomes possible.
