Target question: Is n even?[email protected] wrote:If n is an integer, is n even?
(1) n is NOT an odd integer.
(2) n + 4 is an even integer
Given: n is an integer
Statement 1: n is NOT an odd integer
We're told that n is an integer.
EVERY integer is either odd or even.
So, if n is NOT an odd integer, then n must be an even integer.
Since we can answer the target question with certainty, statement 1 is SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: n + 4 is an even integer
We know that EVEN + EVEN = EVEN
So, it must be the case that n is an even integer.
Since we can answer the target question with certainty, statement 2 is SUFFICIENT
Answer = D
Cheers,
