Hi Stacy:
Thank you in advance! I'm a 39 year old with a non traditional background, living in the Miami area. My dream is to get into the Kellogg EMBA program in Miami.
3.2 undergrad GPA, Psychology Florida State 1989
3.7 Grad GPA MS in Counseling Florida State 1992
Worked as Program Director for a nonprofit 1992-1995
UPenn 1995-1999- completed all coursework towards a PhD in Educational Psychology, left program without completing dissertation...and changed careers.(I've also considered going back to Penn for the emba at wharton)
- GMAT haven't taken yet. Based on GRE scores, I should get at least 650
- 2000-2007 Fortune 500 publisher/media company account manager, promoted within to senior and executive account manager. Lots of leadership activites, team building, marketing, and sales but always living remotely from the corporate office. Never involved in actually managing a business unit.
-currently exec acct manager for an e-learning software company, again responsible for managing all aspects of customer engagement with one of the top organizations my company does business with in the nation. Still not responsible for a budget, direct reports
- Leadership awards, presidents club
- interesting personal facts - I have a two boys ages 2 and 4, my husband is a stay home dad
-My goal is to earn the mba and then move to the corporate home office to get into product marketing, marketing management, and eventually head up Marketing at my company or another educational media/software company
My story is this: I was raised with the concept of service and leadership as core values, although I changed careers, these values have always been reflected in my work.
thanks again and please be honest. I know I have the option of part time mba with a local university, but man I want Kellogg!
