In the GMAT, is 0 considered as a positive integer?

No, Zero is not considered a positive integer in GMAT.

Zero is considered as an integer which is neither positive nor negative

Zero is considered as an even number ( Integer) and not as a positive or negative integer.

0 is neither positive or negative whether its GMAT , CAT , XAT , MAT or whatever..... Its universal math dude and it doesn't cahnge from exam to exam. so be careful.

Integer
(Quotient) X
7
(Divisor)
+ 2
(Remainder)
= n
(Dividend)
0 X 7 + 2 = 2
1 X 7 + 2 = 9
2 X 7 + 2 = 16
3 X 7 + 2 = 23

then why is 0 included here as a positive number?

Hi Hari_study,

0 is NOT a positive number; 0 is what is called a "null value" - meaning neither positive nor negative.

We're told that N is a POSITIVE INTEGER, so we have to think about the all of the possible values for N. In this case, the first/smallest value for N would be 2....

2/7 = 0 r 2
