How to interpret my GMAT score?

Hi all,

Can someone interpret my GMAT score? I took the test last week and made a score of 430… pls don't laugh, I need 400 only, so I am happy with what I got.

My detailed scores are

Verbal 16 / 10%
Quantitative 33 / 40%
Total 430 / 20%

Except for the 430, I am unable to understand what the above figures and ratios mean. Can someone explain that to me? How many verbal questions I got right ( out of 41 Qs ) and how many Math questions I got right ( out of 37 Qs )?

Congrats..you achieved what you wanted.

To answer your question, GMAT scores are based on scaled scores and percentile rankings. When you say Verbal 16 / 10%, it means that the scaled verbal score is 16. This score is based on the performance in the section. No one can answer how many questions you would have got correct or wrong. The scoring is based on the difficultly level at which you had consistently answered correctly. Again the 10% refers to percentile ranking of the score. A percentile ranking of 10% means that about 90% of the candidates had obtained your score or a better score.
