Kaplan exam/diagnostic

by Grad2Be985 » Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:00 pm
Hi everyone,

Well I am begining my quest to break 700 and I just took my first practice test at Kaplan to get a baseline read - I scored a meer 540! I am suprized, but not discouraged since I have not reviewed much at all, the test was on paper (which really suprized me) and a friend who took it with me only scored 10 points higher (she is a great student and someone you would expect to easily break 650/700)

anyways, has anyone else used the kaplan paper test as their diagnostic? was it accurate? what did you end up getting? is it reasonable for me to still break 700 with a starting score like this?

Thanks!

Don't worry about your Kaplan scores--members report that Kaplan consistently skews down their final score significantly from what they should actually expect on the real exam.

I question the value of taking paper exams. My advice is to take all your tests on the computer. Paper just doesn't reflect the adaptive nature of the GMAT well.

In any event, it seems like you're off to a good start! Keep up the good work and please keep us posted!
