GMAT Score:750

2 1/2 weeks left...

I take my GMAT on Friday, Oct. 3. I'm getting a little nervous - I've been working pretty hard, but I don't see much of an improvement in my scores. Granted, I have been scoring over 700 on all of my practice exams, my verbal seems to be staying right around 38-40 the entire time.

Over the last 2 weeks, I developed the following plan - let me know what you all think:

- I plan on putting about 2 hours in per weeknight and 4 hours on both Saturdays and Sundays.
- I left myself with all of the Verbal and Math supplements, so I have nothing but official GMAT questions to practice.

So the plan is to do 2 RC passages, and 10 questions of each type per day with review, so that I'm used to doing a bunch of different questions per day. On Sundays I'll take a practice test.

During the week of, I took off work Tues-Fri. Tuesday I am planning on taking a practice test and working on the AWA section. On Wednesday, I am planning on simulating the entire experience - waking up that early, eating a big breakfast, etc. Basically my whole routine the day of the test, and taking the test at 8 am. I'll spend the rest of the day reviewing the test as well as any notes, questions I have. On Thursday, I'm going to wake up early and have an off day. I'll play golf, see a movie, go to the gym, etc. Then Friday I have the test.

The goal is in the 740+ range. I think if I don't make stupid mistakes on Quantitative, I can reasonably expect to get a 49 or 50 on that section. So if I can just pull my verbal up to a 42-44, that'd get me my goal.

Does anyone have any comments/suggestions on my plan and how I could possibly improve it?

It sounds to me like you're right on track and that you have the appropriate strategy for the final leg of your GMAT studying. Now is the time to really focus in on your weakest 2 or 3 areas. Try to pick a couple of the most common question types that you're still having trouble with - that's where to focus your study.

Good luck, and remember: don't cram!!
