How difficult is it to get a 480

by odanobu1575 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:02 pm
I am scheduled to take my GMAT in March and the school I am applying to is requiring that I only make a 480 to get in. So I wanted to seek advice from everyone how difficult will this be and also any advice on how to study in order to obtain this score. I know this is low compared to others and it is not because the school I am applying to is not good. In fact it is a very good school. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That question is very individual. some students will tell you that a 480 is a very difficult bar to reach while some will say it was their starting point. If you know that is the level you need to be admitted then I would highly recommend taking a practice exam either through Princeton Review or the GMAC website to see where you stand right now. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that you meet or surpass your goal already or you may find that you need to study to improve. The good news is that a 480 is a very reasonable score to try to attain so if you are not at your goal already it should be something that studying and applying yourself should be able to fix.

Best of Luck.

Thanks for the reply. I will most definitely take a practice test to see where I am at. My main worry was the quantitative section. I am pretty sure I will need a refresher. I figured the question was going to be one of individuality.
