ditto same with me ....as now i am not sure i should retake or not....

i have everything EXCEPT gmat good language test score,superb GPA,work experience,Good CV.
but now have low gmat score which has thrown me out of competition...

irony but nothing can be done....

any way best of luck for others....

GMAT score is equally counted as your GPA and 78 clicks can change you life.

Hi Aman...

Sorry to hear your case... Will put my inputs after some research of mine...
Adcom always becomes skeptical once it sees more than 3 attempts...Adcom starts considering that why this applicant is behind this exam when other factors of the profile can be improved...

In your case your profile is good enough as you are a CA... You are not one of those Indian IT male for whom profile is so common...
Adcom will always consider your highest score...So, apply with 610 to the likes of Case western/San jose/Katz..You will have to explain your quant score in your application coz adcom expects better quant from Indian applicants...Take the admit and start with your MBA in 2011..Giving GMAT again might not be a good idea..

Might sound harsh but sometimes we need to accept the reality and move ahead in life...

If you're confident that you will get a 700+ on your next attempt, I would probably say go for it. But I really don't think "extreme levels of practice and preparation" will help. My take is that either there is some flaw in your way of practising, analyzing and understanding questions during your prep or that the mental exhaustion really gets to you during the test (perhaps you take your mocks in a very relaxed environment and that doesn't do much to test your mental stamina). I would suggest you work with a tutor (there are many on this site) to understand where you're going wrong and what to do to work on this.

I wish I could give you a definite answer on what to do but I think it's up to you to take a really tough call on whether you have the stamina to take the GMAT again (and put in all that time and effort) or apply with this score (as adi800 said, adcoms will always consider your highest score i.e. 610). I think your plan of applying this time to middle range programs and retaking the GMAT later this year seems ok. Whether you should apply this year or the next depends on your personal and professional circumstances, and I think you will need to decide soon since time is running out for this year's apps.

Sorry for your low score and sorry for what Aman wrote too,, He sounds silly..

He dont need experts advice here.. We can cleary see Quant:43... He could try with ease to improve 6 more points. ... Quant 49 and verbal 23 can take you to 600.

First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..

Hi Ferma,

Now I have checked their website-everything appears nice there but reality may be different. Only people with real experience may tell the reality.

Then you should ask the adcoms how you can get in touch with alumi. And really, you should have done it before applying.

Regardless of what they tell you, it will be impossible to predict your situation when you graduate and posting the question here is like trying to consult the Oracle at Delphi.

Getting an MBA is not a turn-key solution; you have make things happen on your own.
