- GMAT Score:620
Hello Everyone
I want to share my tragic story. I have taken the test 3 times and I am still struggling with it.
My scores are:
550, I went without studying and didn’t care too much about it.
Then I took a break for a year and enrolled myself in Veritas and I ended up with a mere 620! (45 Q, 27 V) The stuff they taught at Veritas was very simple while actual GMAT is a lot harder.
Anyways, I gathered myself together and took it for the 3rd time. I practiced all 1000 SC, Kaplan 800, OGs, Manhattan GMAT. I was scoring 700+ in my practice tests so I felt pretty confident this time. However, once again tragedy struck me and I ended up with 640 (44Q, 33V).
I have 8 years of work experience. And I plan to go to only top 10 B-schools. I was targeting Kellogg, Cornell, Yale, Wharton and Berkley but with the competition being so high this year I don’t know how to work around these weak GMAT scores. Though I still have some time for the R2 deadlines but I am sure you all agree that preparing for GMAT is extremely draining…and if for the 4th time I end up with similar score then it will do more harm than good.
I am pretty distressed. I am an Indian woman and though I do not have an IT background, it is not so unique that I can get away with 640. My undergrad scores are above average but not significantly high.
I have two options:
- Appear for the fourth time and try to be a superwoman who is working on GMAT as well as her application essays.
- Just go ahead with 640 and keep my fingers crossed.
I am feeling extremely low. One more thing, my weak areas have repeatedly been RC and CR. When I see complicated sentences my mind just fuses. Do you think it can be improved in 3 weeks…if I decide venturing into it again. If yes, where can I find the hardest CR and RC questions?
Needless to say, this forum is the bestest…and that’s why I decided to pen down this post.
Thanks!
