Hi
I have an interest in applying to both programs in the near future (Fall 2012) I wanted to know what are the chances of me being accepted. Due to financial reasons I prefer NYU's tuition over Columbia's Exec program's tuition. Here are my stats

2.9 GPA undergrad Major in Justice Studies Montclair State University
3.91 GPA Masters in Healthcare Administration Seton Hall University
Planning on studying for the GRE's and hoping I can get a high score

5 years of work experience in the legal field as a paralegal

Over 10 yrs of experience in retail/sales (not sure if I should add that)

27 yr old Black Male

I should be working in the healthcare sector by the time I apply.

Would I be deemed a competitive applicant?

Hello,

From the information provided it looks like you may be a viable applicant to the Langone program; Columbia looks like a bit of a stretch because of the age and the level of management experience they prefer. For Langone, it will depend in part on what your work is when you apply - the position, scope of responsibilities, connection to your goals, etc. It's best to show that you perform a significant role with a clear business dimension, opportunity to apply business learning on the job, and a related career trajectory.

For Columbia EMBA, you should demonstrate mid level management responsibility (or comparable) in your career.

Best regards,
