I'm taking the GMAT on August 14th and I could use a bit of advice in terms of how to best utilize the next few weeks. I've read quite a few of the postings so I think I have a rough idea on my approach, but would really appreciate any insight and guidance.
I took the MGMAT course last summer, but work became incredibly hectic and I pushed off the exam a year as I decided to delay my apps one year as well. I studied a bit last summer, but pretty much forgot everything and started again about 1.5 months ago. I've been diligently going through the OG and attacking all the problems. I've also spent some time reviewing concepts I'm weak in (MGMAT GUIDES). After studying for about 1.5 months, I took my first practice this past Sunday and I got a disappointing 630 (MGMAT CAT).
My breakout was 41 for Quant (64%) and and 35 for Verbal (79%). In the upcoming 5 weeks, my plan is to take a practice every weekend and thoroughly review what areas are week. I feel good about timing for the most part, but as this was my first practice I think I was overly nervous and wasn't entirely focused during the exam with the fear I wouldn't do well! During the week I'm going to continue to do problems in all the critical areas and hopefully build up my endurance and weekends I plan on focusing on practice exams (Essays + Exam). I've yet to review the MGMAT guide for sentence corrections, so I didn't expect to get too many of those right during the exam. In addition, I was surprised at my low score in Math as I considered that to be where I'm stronger.
Any input would be really helpful as I want to apply round 1, so I really want to try and get 700+ by August 14th.
Time Frame: 5 Weeks ... August 14th
Current Score: MGMAT - 630
Target Score: 700+
Plan of Attack: Practice exam every weekend with review, hone in on weak areas, and just try to keep myself dedicated and motivated.
