Profile Evaluation & B schools admission queries

Hi.. I am Laksh Kaul, with having a total work experience of 7 Yrs in
Automobile Sector - Sales & Marketing. I did my B.Tech in engineering
with 69.8 % & scored 74.2% in 10+2 exams & 71% in 10th exams.
I am also having good extra curriculuar activities background during
college duration as well social work experience with orphanage home.

I m planning to take GMAT exam in Aug 1st week.I have following queries

1.) Is 3 Months prepration duration enough for GMAT exam ?

2.) Do my Profile suitable for top 15 B Schools in UK or US or i need
to enhance my work experience years with more career growth
in my present company TATA MOTORS

3.) Which MBA course is more suitable for me 1 year or 2 years.

4.) If I take GMAT in Aug 09 then what is the right time to apply for UK
or US B schools

Hello and thanks for your questions.

To try to answer them:

1. It takes different people different lengths of time to prepare for the GMAT. It depends how well you already know the subject matter covered, how quickly you learn, and how much effort and time you put into studying.

2. From what you've said it's very difficult to judge how competitive an applicant you might be. It will depend on the detail of what you've done and achieved during your career and outside work, as well as how you present yourself through your application, your goals and reasons for wanting to do an MBa, and what your recommenders say about you.

3. Whether a 1 or 2 year course is most suitable for you will largely depend on what you want to do after shool, what you need from the program to help you do that, and how big any change of career will be. You also need to consider other issues such as financial costs, the impact of time out of the workplace, and geographical location.

4. In general, 'application season' begins in July/August when schools release their applications for admission to the following year, and the first application deadlines are commonly some time in October/November (all of this varies a bit by school.
