Well, ultimately you have good grades. And if your other stuff is in line (good GMAT, some good work experience etc.) you should have a fighting chance.

You know, you are allowed to mess up. My advice: come clean. Tell the schools about it. Be honest. build a good story about it. That way you seem courageous and sincere. And as long as you got the other goods, you can even write an interesting and moving story that they would love.

The stronger your GMAT score the stronger your argument that your grades are not representative of your capabilities (although your latter grades demonstrate this too).

I once worked with a candidate who had a 2.1 GPA and 760 GMAT gain acceptance to a top 5 school with a similar story so it is doable.

Best of luck,

Everybody loves a low odds underdog. And your essays should certainly be memorable. So yes, take a shot, eyes wide open, but your full time work experience is not clear to me and will also weigh importantly.

What was the top 50 UG?

Definitely look beyond the top 5 as well.
