Hello All! I have come to rely on the Beat The GMAT forums quite a bit for GMAT advice but now I am hoping the community can help me out with an application related question. I have a C+ on my transcript from first semester freshman year of college in a statistics course. My overall GPA is fine, 3.5, but I know that I need to do something to convince the AdComs that I am quantitatively capable.

Should I retake statistics or should I take another quantitatively oriented course like Corp Fin or Accounting? Obviously getting the highest grade possible is the main goal but I also want to make sure the course I choose is relevant. Any advice is appreciated!

If your overall gpa is good, you need not fret about one C+ in your first semester.

If you plan to apply this Fall, you should now focus on other parts of your application- resume, essays, recos etc. Also, you haven't stated anything about your GMAT score. Do you still need to take it or you have already taken it? If yes, what is your score?

I agree that if it's just one course, you don't need to retake it. Also I find that in general "retaking courses" (unless you really lack business math) doesn't really affect your profile all that much and your time and effort can be better spent into just making a better application.
