Hi arghya05,

Can understand that you might be feeling disheartened with the score. But pls don't be down and out. This is not the last time you will appear for GMAT.

Also I see that you went all out with the preparation. A full blown blitzkrieg.

You probably hit a rock 1000 times to break it into a few pieces. But what you needed was a few strategic hits to break it into a large number of pieces.

Pls forgive me if I am wrong, I believe you did not do selective preparation i.e. did not address your weak areas.

Your Quant score looks fine but Verbal is really low. Well you might have done everything possible but did you do it the right way?

Also pls not that GMAT score is just one of many parameters to decide your admission in a B School. Take into account your academics, work experience, extra curricular activities, etc.

So wish you all the best for the future, the road does not end here.

Regards,
Suraj

The verbal section takes a lot of work, especially for non-natives so don't feel too bad. I think the most important part for the verbal section is being able to read properly- something that most books don't really talk about. If you read the three documents about reading in the resource section on this site they might help you with some common problems like subvocalization, back-tracking (re-reading the same words or phrases), etc... etc... It's also very important to read frequently for fun. When you do this, you improve you natural reading rate, and are likely read more naturally on the day of the test (as opposed to being really nervous, which frequently causes back-tracking)

Also, how many times did you go through the Manhattan SC book? I was really bad at SC when I first started but after going through the book three times I made a lot of improvement (and judging by your determination I think that's something that you can do as well.)
