I thought it would be appropriate to post here since I've been following this site for so long. I took my first official GMAT last week and scored a lousy 440. This really disheartens me, because I wish I could have done better. I know I got what I deserved though - I flat out did not study enough. I enrolled in the Princeton review prep course and it helped alot. I was focused and dedicated for the most part. I scheduled my test for mid-June thinking I'd have enough time to really cram if needed. During those months, I pushed my study time farther and farther away. I was just not serious enough.
Side note - I need some advice. My goal in life is to get into a Marketing PHD program. I have already completed my MBA in Marketing. The GMAT was not needed at the time when I enrolled in my program. I have always maintained great grades. I scored an academic achievement award in my MBA program (3.8 or higher). It's just standardized tests that I can't handle. So, most PHD programs require at least a 630 or higher. I know its possible to go from a 440 to 630+..but at this point, I'm just frustrated. Any advice?
