Hello All,

I just took the GMAT and got a 620 (42 Q, 33 V). I never really learned much about sentence correction or Math in general during my studying process, which was a total of 6 weeks. I have one year of work experience in Banking (22 yrs old) and I am looking to go part-time or full time to get an MBA.

My goal is to become a financial analyst so that when I open my own business in the future I will be able to do all of the financials.

I am wondering if it would be wise to forget about applying to PSU Full Time (for 2013 when I'll have 26 months work experience, CMU Tepper FlexTime (I have a 2.98 GPA from a very good private liberal arts school in PA and majored in Economics), and Pitt Part-Time.

My new thought is to sign up for Magoosh for the 50 point guarentee and shoot to get a 700+ and I will have 26 months experience by the time I am ready for admissions.

The reason I believe this would be smart is it could possibly get me a scholarship to a school rather than simply gaining admission.

Any thoughts/advice/ insight would be greatly appreciated!

If you are going to apply to a part-time program, don't plan on getting a scholarship from Tepper or Pitt. I applied to both this year, and one my questions to both schools was are scholarships available to part-time students. The answer was no. Also, Tepper is about double the cost of Pitt just so you are aware.

About your GMAT... Your score is close to the mean for Tepper Flex-time (638) and is above the mean for Pitt (549). I can't speak to the PSU full-time program because I'm not familiar with it.

I have extensively looked at both Pitt and Tepper, so if you have any specific questions, let me know.
