Scored 690 (V-32, Q-50)

by manuag » Wed Apr 18, 2012 6:51 am
Guys,

I attempted GMAT yesterday and scored 690 (V-32, Q-50). I am neither happy nor sad, but a bit confused. I have read some threads in club that if the difference in your quant and verbal score is big, it may affect your admission call.

I targeted 700, but missed the magic score by 10 points. I am not sure if I need to re-take the exam.

Below is my performance in recent exams order by the date attempted.

MGMAT CAT1 - 620( V-29, Q-47) ( Jan 25, 2012)
MGMAT CAT2 - 620( V-32, Q-43) ( Feb 12, 2012)
GMATprepv1(1) -640 ( V-26, Q50) (Feb 26, 2012)
KNEWTON - 650 ( V-33, Q-46) (Mar 18, 2012)
GMATprepv1(2) -720( V-38, Q-50) (Mar 25, 2012)
MGMAT CAT3 - 730( V-40, Q-49) (April 1, 2012) ( Verbal score is inflated as I encountered 2 already attempted RCs)
MGMAT CAT4 - 690( V-34, Q-51) (April 8, 2012)
MGMAT CAT5 - 670( V-33, Q-49) (April 11, 2012)
GMATprepv2 - 700(V-33, Q-50) (April 15, 2012)

GMAT experience:

Quantitative section went fine, as I was comfortable with this section. In verbal section I was doing good till question #22, but then after 4-5 questions I realized that I was running out of time and hence had to skip 3-4 questions (not in a row).

Because of financial constraints, I am not targeting any US university. I have chosen the below five universities in the GMAT exam.

Indian school of business
The university of Hongkong
National university of Singapore
International University of Japan
Schulich school of business ( India course)

Please advise.

690 is a good score, though it is little tilted towards Quants. However, I think you can be competitive in the programs you have chosen. Consider CEIBS. It is one of the top programs.
Celebrate your success. Cheers

Thanks Ankur, I will certainly consider CEIBS. Congratulations for your very good score. Which all universities you are targeting?

Thanks. CEIBS is certainly great, considering the fact that it is one of the most competitive program in ASIA other than the ISB. I am targeting ISB, Kellog, LBS.. Wish me good luck.
