Wonderful reasoning peas..

but a small glitch in reasoning for A. When u said " were derived " need to be used.. I understand we are making the second half in to passive voice...but the first haif still remains in active form... ??

plz share ur view!

mac@

Yes, A will be in passive voice then
But passive voice is not a strict NO on GMAt.

[ whatever I mentioned about A, was the clear error. So no need to think beyond that]

I think abt A and B change the meaning of the sentence. 'it' refers to empire and A and B say that northern and southern alphabets are derived from empire. However, intended meaning is that those alphabets are derived from script.

Above mentioned issue is well answered in C, D and E.
Now D has new issue and that is verb issue. We need derive and not derives.
E is wrong because it breaks ||ism also 'it' does not have clear reference.

Correct ans is C

Hope this helps
