inconsistent gmat score

by chu » Fri Dec 05, 2008 5:01 pm
14st finished taking the gmat. third time.

first time, i scored a 500 40Q, 20V.

a year and a half later, veritas course, lots of studying, i bumped that up to a 650. that is, 44Q(70%), 35V(74%).

today, i retook it, and got a 39Q (55%) f, 41V (91%) for a total of 660.

How will adcoms look at this score? I know a mixed score of 44Q and 41V should be 700 or more, but my inconsistency is what strikes me as being odd.. How do I present this in a way that shows my potential while curbing the inconsistency?

Adcom is going to look at your most recent score rather than mixing and matching from various tests. Just make sure that you show your academic fortitude in other areas of your application.
