Hi there,
This is the reason most people go to b-school: to change careers. So many people want to go from marketing to finance, from finance to consulting, from government to entrepreneurship, and so on and so forth. This is the reason people are willing to pay so much for b-schools - this is an opportunity for students to change their careers, switch to new locations, and upgrade themselves and their careers.

The big challenge for you would be to show why you are ready to change careers, how you can leverage your experience in engineering to finance. You want to show passion for business, finance, and ability to learn and grow.

Overall, for career switchers, full-time MBA are a better option than part-time, because of the focus on recruiting and also the structure that allows for a summer internship.

You also want to do a lot of homework about finance - this is such a big industry with many roles. Getting into IB is competitive but not as much as getting in Private Equity, and there are less and less Equity Research jobs, not to mention trading. So - learn more about finance and be very specific on how you will fit into these future roles.

Best,
Yael
