Inequality

If wz < 2, is z < 1?
(1) w > 2
(2) z < 2
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is
sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

IMO Ans is A

stmt # 1: w > 2 => z < 1 to satisfy the inequality wz < 2 (z == 2 or > 2 it would disatisfy the inequality). Hence stmt # 1 is sufficient.

stmt # 2: z < 2. Not sufficient. z could be equal to 1 > 1 or even less than 1. Hence, stmt # 2 not sufficient.

Hence, Answer is A
