If 0<r<1<s<2, which of the following must be less than 1?


I r/s
II rs
III s-r



a)I
b)II
c) I and II
d)I and III
e) III and II


The answer is C, I know I need to be true, but why II is correct also?

Please help explain that answer......thanks

I for one believe that r*s can be greater than 1. Take r = 0.99 and s = 1.99 and you'll see that, by multiplying the two, you get a number that is definitely greater than 1.
