GMAT Math Study Resources

I just took the GMAT for the first time over the weekend and scored a 640, 88th percentile in verbal and 52nd in quant. I'm going to take the test again and I'd like to know what the best study resources are. I've been told the manhattan series is quite good.

For previous studying I used Kaplan and GMAT 800 by Kaplan.

Are you looking specifically for math resources? Or both verbal and math resources?

I recommend that you purchase the Official Guide to GMAT Review. This book is considered the Bible of GMAT prep because it features actual (but retired) GMAT questions. Lots of practice is the key to improving your score.

Yes, I'm looking for math resources specifically. I did quite a few problems from the Official Guide before taking the test and found I was able to answer 90% of them correctly. So I was pretty disappointed when I scored so low in quant. I've heard the Official Guide only includes questions in the easy-medium range, is this true?

I would recommend purchasing the OG book--it does include plenty of difficult questions: you can see each question classified by difficulty here: https://www.beatthegmat.com/viewtopic.php?t=82

The real value of the OG book is that they are REAL questions. Practicing with real questions will help you get a sense of common patterns and question structures that the makers of the GMAT love to test.

Take some time to also look around the posts on this GMAT Math forum. There are some uploaded documents that feature tough GMAT Math questions for you...
