Define the x-coordinate of the midpoint between (-1, 1) and (4, 1) as m and define the y-coordinate of the midpoint between (4, 1) and (4, 3) as n. What are the x- and y-coordinates of (m, n)?
(A) (5/2, 3/2)
(B) (5/2, 2)
(C) (3/2, 3/2)
(D) (3/2, 2)
(E) (4, 1)

M(x) = -1+4/2 = 3/2
N(y) = 1+3/2 = 2

(E) (4, 1)
Midpoint of two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is given by [(x1 + x2)/2, (y1 + y2)/2]
So, m, the x-coordinate of the midpoint between (-1, 1) and (4, 1) = (-1 + 4)/2 = 3/2
n, the y-coordinate of the midpoint between (4, 1) and (4, 3) = (1 + 3)/2 = 2
Hence, (m, n) = (3/2, 2)

The correct answer is D.
