The key is that these are similar triangles because angle PQR is a right angle.

Thus:

a/2 = 2/b

With a or b you can solve for the diameter.

b2 + 4=QR2

PR= sq.root(PQ2+QR2)
(a+b)2 =a2 +b2 +8

2ab=8
ab=4
