Q -> A vessel of 80 litres is filled with milk & water. 70% of milk & 30 % of water is taken out it is found that vessel is emptied by 55%. What is the initial quantity of milk & water ?


Q -> What percentage of salt must be added so that the percentage must be changed from 20% of salt & 80% of water to 40% of salt and 60% of water?

Q1 Now 70M and 30W means 55(M and W) solution.
Now ratio could be found out by

70M+30W=55(M+W) as the denominator is same for both the sides
Now ratio from this is M:W=5:3, From this 50lt and 30lt

Q2, let us take 100 gm of salt solution,

Now in that salt solution x gm of salt must be added to make it 40% solution from 20% solution, then

20+x/(100+x)=40/100=2/5

From this x=100/3=33.33gm for 100 gm of solution and it means 33.33%
