From the image we can say x + (180 - y) + 50 = 180 (Since the angles in a triangle must add up to to 180)
=> x - y + 50 = 0
=> y = x + 50

I have done it this way.
8/sin90 = 4/sin3b
(This is by this rule:
)=>sin3b = 1/2
=> 3b = 30
=> b = 10
Since 3b is 30 then 10 should be 60
=> 10a = 60
=> a = 6
