If x is different from 3, then (3x(x-3) -x +3)/(x-3) = ...
A : X+1
B : X-3
C : 3x +1
D : 3x -1
E : 3X +3
Any help welcome! Thanks!
Let x=0.
Then (3x(x-3) -x +3)/(x-3) = (0-0+3)/(0-3) = -1. This is our target.
Now we plug x=0 into the answers to see which yields our target of -1.
Only
D works:
3x-1 = 3(0)-1 = -1.
The correct answer is
D.
