American vs British English

Hi,

Does anyone know if the AWAs are graded solely based on American English? The main area of concern here is spelling of course. I'm just wondering if I will need to make sure my essays contain no British spelling of certain words that are spellt differently the American way.

I dont think so. (though I dont have the exact information).

There's great proportion of international students who take GMAT exam every year around the world. & most of them follow British English.

There are chances of this error as GMAC's one of the examiners of essays is the computer program (haha check the spelling),

But there are humans who check the essays as well ;) They have the final verdict. :?

I had a British student ask me this once. I made some calls (none of which were to the GMAC itself, mind you - but they were to some high-ranking GMAT experts), and the general consensus was that it doesn't matter.
