Respected sir/ma'am,

i would be very thankful if you could please answer the following questions.

1) Is a score of 600 decent enough?? I will try for 650+ though, but it will be tough for me.

2) I am going to be in Singapore for now. Would representatives from any B-school be coming to Singapoe in September-December 2008 ??

3) Should I get all the recommendation letters from my college professors or should there be at least one from a professional referee (my ex boss)

4) Could you name me some ordinary American colleges (B-schools) where a average candidate like me would also stand a chance. I do not mind if they are NOT AASCB accredited, as long as that wont be a problem with my Visa chances (I am from India). I am specifically looking for colleges which have Spring/January start dates and have MBA programs which are preferably 1-1.5 years in course duration

Thank you very much.

my undergraduate degree is in engineering where i have a dismal record and a gpa of about 2.2/4

however i followed it up with an mba from a college in Singapore (degree awarded by an Australian university).

my gpa for the mba is about 6.5/10.

i have 2.5 years of work experience in india - 2 years in marketing in the hospitality industry and 0.5 years as a (technical) content writer for a software company.

Thank you

Dear singsub,

If you already have an MBA from a school in Singapore, then you are not eligible to enroll in most MBA programs in the US. Before you expend any more effort, I would suggest you determine whether or not your MBA is equivalent to a US MBA. If it is, then getting a second MBA is not a viable path.

Regards,
Lisa

some colleges did say that i am not eligible for a 2nd mba, but most colleges do not have a problem.

my college is not aascb accredited, also singapore does not have many jobs for non citizens, so applying for an mba in an asscb accredited American college isnt that unreasonable.
