The diagonals of a rhombus NEED NOT have equal length (see diagram). That said, the diagonals CAN have equal length, but only in the case of a square (which is a special kind of rhombus).
A few other facts about the rhombus:
- The diagonals bisect each other at 90 degree angles
- Opposite angles are equal
- All 4 side have equal length
- adjacent angles add to 180 degrees
