How many liters of a solution that is 10% salt must be added to 3 liters of a solution that is 15% salt so that the resulting solution is 12% salt?
(A) 3
(B) 3.75
(C) 4
(D) 4.75
(E) 5

10/100*x+15/100*3=12/100(x+3)

(10x+45)/100=12(x+3)/100

10x+45=12x+36

2x=9

x=4.5

Am I missing something?

i too got 4.5

...0.1x+0.045=0.12(x+3)

x=4.5
