a : b : c,therefore b^2 = ac

1) c = 2a

c is +ve when a is +ve and c is -ve when a is -ve. So we cannot say whether c is +ve or -ve.

2) b ^2 = 32

Therefore ac = 32.

From above we just know that a and c have the same sign. Both can be +ve or both can be -ve. So we still cannot say for sure whether c is +ve or -ve.

Take both statement together and the only thing we know that a and c have the same sign. But we do not know whether these are +ve or -ve.

So both together are also insufficient.
