Let's use plug -in strategy here. If in April, one dozen was sold, then in May : 1 dozen and in June : 2 dozens
Total dozens sold: 4
Average price: (1.26*1 + 1.2*1 + 1.08*2)/4 = 1.16
So the answer is D

IMO D.
(1.08*2+1.26+1.2)/(2+1+1)=1.155=1.16

Solution:
Let the number of dozens of egg sold in May be x.
So the total price of x dozen eggs sold in May is 1.2x.
Also number of dozens of eggs sold in April is x.
So the total price of x dozen eggs sold in April is 1.26x.
The number of dozen of eggs sold in June is 2x.
So the total price of 2x dozen eggs sold in June is 2x*1.08 = 2.16x.
Or the average price per dozen of the eggs sold over 3 month period is $(1.2x+1.26x+2.16x)/(x+x+2x) = $4.62x/4x = $1.155 = $1.16.

The correct answer is (D).
