With an academic profile that is not top of the heap, it will help you a lot to really do well on the GMAT. You don't mention your post MBA career plans and that would help a great deal to have that focus before selecting schools. Your GMAT score will dictate where you are competitive- but assuming you have a high score, you may look at top 20 US MBA programs. Sounds like you want a global experience- but you will have to do a better job of explaining your WHY MBA than just to see the world before settling down. I'd focus on that, I'd sign up on the mailing lists of target schools (top 20 for now) and start attending coffee chats online and going to events when schools are on tour. Then find the programs that resonate with you and hopefully if your GMAT score is good (study now!), then you will begin to know more about particular programs and why they appeal to you. I AM AN INDIAN OF 27YRS OF AGE AND I HAVE JUST COMPLETED MY CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY(CA) IN MAY 2016. TILL 2010 MY ACADEMICS WAS DECENT (I WON'T SAY EXCELLENT OR AMONG TOPPERS) BUT AFTER THAT THERE WERE A LOT OF PERSONAL ISSUES & FINANCIAL SHORTAGE DUE TO WHICH MY GRADES FELL.
SO I WANTED TO SHARE MY STORY AND MY DESIRE TO STUDY MBA SO THAT EVALUATION CAN BE DONE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ALL THE PERSPECTIVES. I WAS BORN IN BIHAR, INDIA, BOUGHT UP IN DELHI AND SETTLED IN A SMALL CITY OF HARYANA. I STARTED A SMALL BUSINESS WITH MY BROTHER WITH $30K AND IN A YEAR WE LOST HALF OF THE CAPITAL BUT AFTER SIX YEARS I.E. TODAY, WE MANAGED TO BUILD A 120000 SQ FT OF MANUFACTURING UNIT WITH 2.5MN IN REVENUES. IN INDIA IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 24 YEARS OF AGE THEN YOU SHOULD BE MARRIED (NO LOGIC AT ALL) BUT NOW THAT I HAVE TIME TO PURSUE WHAT I LEFT 4-5 YEARS BEFORE I AM PLANNING TO GAIN AS MUCH KNOWLEDGE AS POSSIBLE OF THE GLOBAL WORLD AND MEET PEOPLE ACROSS THE CULTURES AND THIS THOUGHT OF LEARNING & GROWTH LED ME TO A DECISION TO CONSIDER MBA.

I DON'T HAVE WORK EXPERIENCE IN COMPANIES WITH BIG NAMES RATHER I HAVE EXPERIENCE OF MY BUSINESS, 42 MONTHS OF COMPULSORY TRAINING IN CA AND 6 MONTHS OF UNPAID WORKING IN MY HOMETOWN JUST TO KEEP MYSELF UPDATED OF THE PROFESSION.

I PLAN FOR 730+ GMAT SCORE AND WILL TAKE THE EXAM IN 15/OCT/2016 AND FILL THE APPLICATIONS FOR ROUND 2.

WHAT ARE THE PROSPECTS OF SELECTION? WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE TO ENTER INTO TOP B SCHOOLS?
LASTLY, IF ANY SUGGESTIONS THEN PLEASE DO SUGGEST!!
